Reiki is one of the most ancient healing methods known to mankind. It was first done in Tibet and then rediscovered by a Japanese monk named
Dr. Mikao Usui in the nineteenth century. He, in turn developed what is called the Usui System of Natural Healing and passed it down through Reiki Masters, who, then, pass it down to others who perform Reiki to the population in general.
There is nothing new about the healing power of touch. In Reiki, there is a natural exchange and balancing of energy or “life source” between the receiver and the Reiki healer. The Reiki giver is used as a channel to conduct energy into the body of the receiver and to help balance this energy as it happens.
Reiki usually helps healing of all kinds and relieves pains and acute symptoms very quickly. It also has a positive influence on spiritual growth. A treatment may result in clearer thinking, a reduction in stress and stress related ailments, as well as, better management of stress as it occurs in one’s life. Emotional blocks can be released, which can help to reveal both positive and negative feelings giving the receiver a better chance of letting these things go.
The physical benefits include such things as better sleep, reduced blood pressure, where needed, pain reduction in areas where there are problems. Toxins are cleared, making it more possible for the body to heal itself in a more holistic manner.
To summarize, there are many benefits to be enjoyed from this ancient art of Reiki. It affects our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and mental
senses of well-being --- all of which, make up the total sum of overall health and wellness.
